Finding joy in everything.

We fight to stay connected to the source of our joy in the midst of whatever life has to offer us.

This photo will always be so special to me. When we got pregnant with Harlem, we were currently living in a college dorm doing ministry. We had just moved to Texas, barely had anything, yet so happy getting to do life with those who started off as just students but became our family. We knew that without a doubt regardless how much space we lacked or the money we didn’t have, we knew love was going to be felt all around. Our circumstances wasn’t based on what we didn’t have, but on what we did have—joy.

Till this day, although our circumstances are so much different, we still find joy in everything. Things we can’t really understand, uncontrollable situations, & challenges. The highs & lows in marriage & parenthood. We fight to stay connected to the source of our joy in the midst of whatever life has to offer us. With nothing or with everything. God still gets praised. Joy remains. 

For anyone feeling the pressure to have everything in your life be in order & everything to be in place, just stay encouraged. Your breakthrough is coming. God wants nothing but the best for you. Find joy through it all. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
